Cutting cutting and cutting!

Every WHAT piece takes a lot of time, coffee breaks and patience to make. And actually it also require a lot of space because of the size of it. Until december 2019 I’ve been making four pieces, a white, yellow, green and blue one. But since it’s such a time consuming process, I started thinking of the possibility of getting others to help to be able to send more WHATs to the world in a faster way.

With help from a dear friend, Linnea, I called for skilfull Danish people to help making new WHATs. And how impressive!! We quickly got emails from people all over Denmark, who wanted to join the project. It was so overwhelming and uplifting that so many persons were ready to use a whole lot of spare time to do something about single use plastics. I haven’t met a single on of them (at least not yet) but even though I feel so connected with all of them! It’s really really rewarding to join forces for a higher purpose with someone you don’t know personally and to read their stories about why they think it’s important to join in the World Wide WHAT.

So since December I’ve been busy cutting plastic bags into plastic yarn to send to the volunteers. Some of the volunteers have already got their home filled with plastic yarn and some of them might also have blisters on their hands of crochet while others still awaits their box of plastic yarn to get to work.

Here are the names of the volunteers who currently are helping making new WHATs.

Carina Kalas * Karen Buus * Anja Krarup * Ulla Dencker * Ann-Mari Spolum * Jane andresen * Camilla * Birgitte Staal * Anette * Susanne Piilmann * Yvonne Jørgensen

Thank you so much everyone!
